Ideal for Low-Risk Laboratory Applications
DLabturnkey's Class I Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs) are expertly designed for handling low to moderate-risk biological agents. These cabinets are not suitable for sterile procedures as the incoming air is not filtered. Instead, they are perfect for enclosing equipment such as centrifuges and small fermenters, or for processes that may generate aerosols, like tissue homogenization. The outgoing air is filtered, ensuring the safety of laboratory personnel.
The airflow within the cabinet captures aerosol particles generated during laboratory procedures, directing them towards the HEPA filter for effective filtration.
As air enters the cabinet, it carries with it any aerosols produced during microbiological work. This air then passes through a sophisticated filtration system designed to trap airborne contaminants. The result is clean, decontaminated air that is safely exhausted from the cabinet. The filtration system typically includes a pre-filter and a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter.
Class I Biological Safety Cabinets are essential for working with low to moderate-risk agents. They effectively enclose small-scale laboratory equipment and are particularly useful in processes that generate aerosols, such as tissue homogenization.
